McKenna Mesak is a friendly, down-to-earth therapist who helps women find relief from the weight of everyday stress, tough transitions, and unresolved emotional pain. Whether you’re feeling stuck in a big life change, managing low motivation or burnout or trying to cope with the impact of past trauma, McKenna creates a space that’s supportive, real and focused on what’s most helpful to you in the here and now

What It’s Like to Work With McKenna

McKenna’s approach is interactive and engaging. She doesn’t just sit back and nod—she’s right there with you, helping you figure out what’s not working and offering real tools to try out between sessions. Her sessions often include coping skills, perspective shifts, and helpful takeaways you can actually use.

She believes therapy should feel like a conversation with someone who’s in your corner, offering insight, asking thoughtful questions, and helping you stay focused on what matters most. You won’t find any clinical stiffness or overly theoretical talk here—just grounded, kind support and a genuine desire to help you feel more in control and at peace.

Who McKenna Works With

McKenna supports adult women who are navigating:

  • Stress & Burnout – Especially for those feeling emotionally drained, stretched too thin or overwhelmed by life’s demands

  • Depression & Low Motivation – When the days feel heavy and it’s hard to feel like yourself

  • Life Transitions – Whether it’s a new job, the end of a relationship, a move or a shift in identity or purpose

  • Past Trauma – Including the lingering impact of difficult experiences that still affect how you feel or relate to others

She also offers EMDR therapy for clients who want to process trauma in a structured and effective way. It’s one of the tools she uses to help people move through stuck emotional patterns to find relief.

What is EMDR?

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a powerful therapy tool that helps people heal from difficult or traumatic experiences—without having to talk about the details over and over. It works by helping your brain "reprocess" painful memories so they no longer feel as overwhelming or triggering.

Think of it like clearing out old emotional clutter. Those memories don’t go away, but they lose their grip. You’re able to look at them with more clarity and less distress.

EMDR is widely researched and has been shown to be highly effective for treating trauma, PTSD and anxiety-related issues. Many people experience relief faster than with traditional talk therapy alone. It's recommended by organizations like the American Psychological Association and the World Health Organization for the treatment of trauma.

McKenna gently guides clients through EMDR in a way that feels safe and manageable. It can be especially helpful if you’ve tried talking through trauma and still feel stuck, or if certain experiences keep showing up in ways that don’t make sense.

You don’t need to know anything about EMDR before starting—McKenna will walk you through the process and make sure it fits your comfort level and goals.

McKenna’s Style in a Nutshell

McKenna’s work is:

  • Here-and-now focused – You’ll look at what’s happening in your life today, and how to make it feel better

  • Problem-solving oriented – If something isn’t working, she’ll help you find what might

  • Short-term friendly – You don’t need to commit forever; McKenna often works with clients for a few months to a year, depending on what’s needed

  • Friendly and interactive – She shows up as a real person, makes therapy feel approachable, and encourages your input throughout

Clients often say they appreciate how easy it is to talk to her, how useful her suggestions are, and how supported they feel—even when the work gets tough.
